IMPORTANT NOTE

 

 

We are not a large company and are minimally staffed.  Even so, we manually verify every single order we receive.  Your order is also NOT automatically charged to your credit card.  We verify that information you provide to us is correct and then we manually process your credit card info.  Yes, it is more costly to conduct business this way (for us), because we pay a higher rate on our merchant account for manually inputting the information.  But as a result of strict adherence to this policy, we enjoy a ZERO fraud rate on our website. 

We also actively participate in fraud information sharing with other merchants as well as law enforcement agencies - the only way your information will EVER be shared with anyone.  Otherwise, we do not store your credit card information beyond what is required of us by both the credit card issuers and the IRS.  And THIS information is not stored on our computer at all. We do not share your information to anyone for any reason other than above.  This includes your personal info as well.

 

Shipping:  Our secure shopping cart computes the standard ground rates for the continental United States. Actual shipping, such as truck freight, may be higher depending upon the item and where it is going.  The shopping cart computes a standard ground freight based on a minimum of 1 lb for the continental United States.  Please note that shipping to Alaska and Hawaii are not in the continental US and will usually be 50% - 75% higher than the cart estimates.  We will adjust your total accordingly.

Most smaller items such as Potpourri and gift items can be shipped via DHL, FEDEX or USPS Parcel Mail and usually ship the same or next business day. However, please allow ten business days to complete the processing and shipping of your order.

We will ship internationally through the USPS, but only after payment is received via POSTAL international money order payable in US Dollars.  The processing time for these orders is normally six weeks, but can be completed earlier, if payment is received timely. 

We do not ship under any circumstances to the following countries: Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Burma, Burundi, Congo, Cuba, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, Nigeria, Poland, Romania, Rwanda, Seychelles, Slovenia, Sudan, Syria, or Yemen.

Neither UPS, DHL nor Fedex will ship without a telephone number or to a Post Office box address.

Overseas shipping to some areas is prohibitively expensive, for example - shipping to Nigeria is about $575.00 per 40 pound box via UPS three-day.  Shipping method costs for countries we do ship to may be estimated at Federal Express located here http://fedex.com, United Parcel Service located here http://ups.com, DHL located here: http://dhl.com or the United States Postal Service located here http://usps.com.

All orders - For payment by credit card the "Ship To" and "Billing Address" must be the same.  If you prefer that we ship to a different address, you must contact your credit card bank and ask the bank to add the address as an authorized address.   We realize this makes it difficult to order gifts to be shipped to others online, however we will only ship to the billing address.  If you wish the order to go to an "unauthorized" address, you must ship it yourself.  We do not use third party shipping accounts, only our own.  Also, we do NOT ship to reshippers.  If you require this, then find another company online to do business with.

If you choose to ignore these two policies, one of  which is CLEARLY STATED ON THE SHOPPING CART, then your order will be ignored and deleted.  We cannot state it any plainer.   Calling and placing your order by phone does not change our policy. 

We try to ship your orders complete, however if all items are not in stock, we may ship partial orders unless you specifically request us not to.  We will charge the full shipping amount on the partial order.  Backorders will not be charged any additional shipping.  Your credit card is not charged until the items are shipped. We will ship the cheapest and fastest rate.

Most backorder items ship within ten business days, usually sooner, via Fedex or USPS Priority/Parcel Mail.  Please note that the aerosol fragrance sprays are considered hazardous materials and must be shipped ground freight through Fedex, DHL, or UPS.   USPS does not allow shipment of aerosols in any form.  Aerosols cannot be shipped overseas.

Large items such as floor lamps and tables, must be shipped via truck freight to assure arrival in pristine condition and due to the size and cargo restrictions of ground freight methods.  These items ship within the continental US only.  Email us with your zip code and the item number, for a shipping quote, prior to placing your order.

Truck Freight companies offer substantial discount rates for business to business shipping.  Business to residential rates are higher.  We try to use DHL when we can, as they have the best rates.

Fedex or USPS  is our shipper of choice and they seem to be the most reliable method of shipping.  Times vary according to package destination, but should be reasonably expected in 5-7 days and often arrive in less time. 

 

Payment Methods:  We accept both debit and credit cards - MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover/Nova for domestic orders.  You must provide the credit card holder's correct name, billing address, phone number and zip code, plus the verification code (on the back of the card), for authorizations.

We can not accept credit card payment for international orders. Only postal money orders payable in US dollars.

Please do NOT ever send credit card information in an email.  Email is not a secure method and your information can be easily compromised.  We have a secure website ordering method which encrypts your credit card information as it travels over the internet.  This is the ONLY secure method in which to submit your credit card information.  We take no responsibility for compromised credit card information submitted in an email.

We accept checks and money orders (drawn in dollars only on US banks) via the mail service.  Print the mail order form found here, or submit your order online via the secure shopping cart and select PayPal or Mail Order/Fax as the payment option, then mail your payment to:

Orders are held for ten business days only.  If payment is not received within that time frame, we will automatically cancel the order for you.

You must add shipping to your order amount, so email us to inquire of the shipping cost, if you do not use the secure shopping cart.  A minimum of ten days is required for payment to clear on personal or business checks for domestic orders.  For international orders, this processing time is six weeks.

We also accept payment via Paypal, but you must have a verified checking account and we will only ship to a verified address with Paypal.  We do not accept credit card orders via Paypal.  All credit card orders must be submitted via our secure server software.  If you do not have a Paypal account and would like one, go here to sign up.  It is free.  It is also the most secure and convenient method of paying for online purchases without having to give out your credit card information time and time again.

Our secure server software (Secure Socket Layer or SSL) is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts your personal information, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet.

 

Refunds or Returns:  We aim to please.  If you are not satisfied with your order or it arrives damaged.  We will either replace the item or refund your purchase price. Simply return in unused condition in the original packaging within thirty days of purchase.  We cannot refund shipping costs.  We always ship insured. 
 

Free Samples:  We do not send free samples, unless we have them on hand from the manufacturer and will only include them when you place an order.  

 

AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT CREDIT CARD SHOPPING ONLINE

As a long time credit card merchant, we take our responsibility to the public very seriously.  Too many websites will allow credit card purchases from anyone who presents a valid account number and expiration date combination, without even trying to verify that they are dealing with the account holder.  What that means is that anyone can use YOUR credit card at these sites, to buy whatever they like with no questions asked.  Sites that will ship to addresses other than the billing address (without first verifying the order) may seem convenient to you, but that is exactly how YOUR credit card could be used by someone without your authorization, or knowledge.  As someone whose account information has been stolen, I know all too well how wide spread credit card fraud is today, especially online where buyers and sellers are anonymous. Vinson's Specialty Gifts and Collectibles is doing its part to help cut down on credit card fraud.  At Vinson's, all billing addresses are verified and all orders are manually screened for fraud.  Orders shipped to an address other than the billing address must be authorized by the credit card holder's bank.  Though it may take a little more time and effort for us as well as you the customer, we feel the security of your credit card is worth it.

 

Lastly, if you are a retailer, please do not ask us where we buy items for wholesale.  We spend a great deal of time and effort sourcing our products ourselves.  We consider this privileged trade information and will not provide the information to you.

We do sell in bulk to other retailers, but some of our items are not "wholesaleable."  In other words, we are only authorized retailers for those products.  Most of our wholesale catalogs are online already - go here to see them: http://vinsons.org/wholesal.htm.   We offer only ONE print catalog for wholesale items.  Many of those catalogued items are not listed on our website.  This catalog can be ordered from the same webpage.
